I'm a product designer based in Oakland, CA dedicated to making information accessible, memorable, and clear for people who are overwhelmed and overstimulated. While growing up in the Philippines, I saw firsthand how access--or the lack of it--to thoughtfully designed physical and virtual spaces altered the structure of people's day-to-day lives, emphasizing the inequities and resiliency within the broader cultural fabric. This drives my passion for creating inclusive, easy-to-use solutions that consider the lived experiences of a wide range of users navigating this exciting and perplexing tech landscape.
I like to simplify complex data, presenting clear and understandable information without sacrificing detail. I love designing tools that empower people, especially those who don't have the time, expertise, or resources to dig into the raw data. I'm especially fond of dashboards and data visualization, and I'm always on the lookout for apps that have clean interfaces that tailor the presentation of data according to the user's changing needs--some of my favorites are MacroFactor, Strava, and Hevy. Not only are these apps designed effectively, but they also helped me run my first 10k.
Outside of this work, I like to start my mornings with a coffee-greek yogurt-honey concoction and a short run while listening to an audiobook. Right now I'm listening to The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman. I'm always looking for book recommendations, so feel free to reach out if you have any.
I was a graphic designer for a Philippine-based SaaS company. I decided to pursue UX and found the Google UX course. I'm currently enrolled Flatiron Product Design Bootcamp and I take on UX projects as a freelancer on the side.
